Dauberman Road Extension

Kane County Division of Transportation

OBJECTIVE

Provide subconsultant services to Wight & Company for a Kane County Division of Transportation roadway extension project in Big Rock and unincorporated Kane County.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Dauberman Road Extension extended Dauberman Road from its previous terminus at US Route 30 south to Granart Road, crossing over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad tracks. The project aimed to improve access across the railroad between the Village of Big Rock and the Village of Sugar Grove while addressing future transportation needs outlined in the Kane County 2040 Transportation Plan. Key objectives included enhancing safety, improving regional mobility, and strengthening connectivity within the county’s transportation network.

HLR provided Phase 3 structural and environmental support during construction, primarily overseeing stormwater and erosion control measures and native planting installation. The team conducted quality assurance for native plantings, facilitated installation across three detention basins, and performed ongoing vegetation health assessments.
