Vice President

Steve Megginson serves as a Vice President and Project Manager for local and state transportation and structural projects throughout Illinois. Since beginning his career in 1989, Steve has gained extensive experience in hydraulic and structural design, project management, bridge inspections, and transportation infrastructure improvements.

Steve is responsible for leading HLR’s IDOT, Tollway, and local agency bridge projects, as well as supporting the growth and performance of the firm’s structural department. Through his practical approach to design and project management, he works closely with clients to deliver quality projects with a high level of service.

Steve also serves as a Program Manager for NBIS bridge safety inspections and condition evaluations for local agencies. Known for his integrity, work ethic, and unwavering commitment to the public, he takes the time to thoroughly understand each project and identify cost-effective, innovative solutions.

In recognition of his leadership, technical expertise, and contributions to the engineering profession, Steve was named Outstanding Engineer of the Year by the Engineering Society of Illinois (ESI) in 2022.
