Water System GIS
The Western Wayne Water District needed their water system mapped in GIS from existing accounting data and historical paper records.
Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick, Inc. (HLR) was asked to create a geodatabase of water system data for Western Wayne Water District. Our team imported 1,597 water meter locations from coordinates provided in existing accounting data spreadsheets, including name and service address. Additionally, 388 miles of water main, 335 hydrants, and 316 valves were digitalized from historic paper maps. Pipe diameter was noted in the historical maps and was also added as a GIS attribute. Our team also set up GIS maps on mobile devices for field use including a map change request and leak identification reporting application for continued coordination and map updates.
