Beck Oil LUST
Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick, Inc. (HLR) completed a 45 Day Report for the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency for the Beck Oil LUST (Leaking Underground Storage Tank) project.
HLR was responsible for soil sampling to determine the presence of contamination on site and providing oversight of the removal of four LUSTs, including the following tanks:
- 12,000 gallon gasoline tank
- 8,300 gallon gasoline tank
- 4,000 gallon gasoline tank
- 2,000 gallon kerosene tank
Approximately 760 cubic yards of contaminated soil was removed from the site. HLR completed the delineation of impacted soil, groundwater, evaluated the groundwater flow direction, hydraulic conductivity and hydraulic gradient, and tested the soil physical parameters. All necessary reporting and documentation regarding the removal were completed and the required reimbursement documentation was submitted to the Illinois EPA. This site has qualified for reimbursement under the Illinois Underground Storage Tank Fund program.
