NATIONAL SURVEYORS WEEK – March 21-27
During National Surveyors Week, Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick, Inc. (HLR) wants to recognize and celebrate our own hardworking land surveyors and technicians and draw attention to the important role the surveyor plays in infrastructure improvements.

HLR Professional Land Surveyor John Sweet (left) and Survey Apprentice Ryan Baker (center) provide learning and shadow opportunities for those interested in surveying.
Surveying has been an essential element in the development of the human environment since the beginning of recorded history (about 5,000 years ago). It is required in the planning and execution of nearly every successful infrastructure project. Its most familiar modern uses are in the fields of transportation, building and construction, communications, mapping, and the definition of legal boundaries for land ownership.
At HLR, we are committed to helping educate the next generation of surveyors. Whether it is participating in the annual Trig Star competition at local high schools, welcoming shadowing opportunities for individuals interested in learning more about the profession, or partnering with the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association (IPLSA) Surveyor and Mapping Technician Training Program to sponsor apprenticeship opportunities, we are passionate about introducing men and women to this vital profession!
Rain or shine (and sometimes cows!), HLR’s surveyors and technicians are some of the hardest working in the industry and we thank you for your dedication!
