HLR HOLDS DONATION DRIVES FOR LOCAL HOMELESS SHELTERS
Community involvement is important at HLR. Not only do we strive to improve communities through our work, but volunteering is important to our culture as well. Throughout May, our Elgin and Mt. Carmel offices held donation drives to support the mission of local homeless shelters.
In Elgin, we collected items for Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) of Elgin, Inc. By the end of the month, we collected two large boxes of materials, which included everything from toilet paper and garbage bags to Kool-Aid and coffee. Donation drives like ours bring much-needed supplies to the shelter to help the area’s homeless population, which is roughly 50 people every night.
At Mt. Carmel’s drive, supplies were collected for Safe Haven. This organization provides emergency shelter for the homeless women and children of the greater Wabash County area. Our staff donated books, laundry detergent, and lotion which will go towards helping visitors of the shelter.
Thank you to all of our team members who donated to these local organizations.
